Why Winter Blend Products?

When temperatures fall the natural paraffins in diesel and heating oil begin to crystallize, causing fuel to gel. Winter Blend products enable fuel to flow as temperatures fall.

Purpose

To reduce the effects of wax and particulate while increasing combustion efficiency in cold weather. Minimizing negatives of low sulfur diesel.

Particulate

Both products provide enough stabilizer at 100 PPM to keep any fuel below 10 mg/L when tested by ASTM D2276 or 1.5 mg/100 ml by D2274 for at least six months.

Wax Formation

Using these products at a 1 gallon to 10,000 gallon (100 PPM) dosage rate delivers enough pour point and cold filter plugging point (CFPP) suppressant to depress these temperatures 10° to 20° F and 5° to 10° F respectively.

Lubricity

Both materials will replace the oiliness agents stripped from today's low sulfur diesel fuel at the refinery.
